Today on my discussion list and a very superb CB radio is my personally owned Uniden 800 MHz 300-Channel Base Mobile Scanner (BC355N) that is a compact base / mobile scanner and by far one of my best user-friendly CB radios owned thus far. The other day a friend of mine had been looking to replace his old CB radio and was looking for one that is easy to use but still offers you with great frequency and reception and I recommended that he buy himself one of these as I have been using mine for a very long time.

When his new CB radio arrived and as I have used mine for a long time, we decided to write a scanner review to help you decide if this model is the one you are looking for to provide you with the basic requirements when it comes to CB radios.

When the package arrived and he opened the box, it reminded me of the time my Uniden BC355N arrived I was all excited like a small kid opening a present and trying out my new toy to play with. The box held the CB radio, telescoping antenna, a flexible window-mount mobile antenna, an AC adapter, vehicle power adapter, the DC power cord for hard-wiring power from the car to your scanner, bracket & screws, and the owner’s manual.

What is so great about the scanner?

For one the scanner keeps you informed on what is going on during storms, flash flooding, tornado event, and the majority of natural disasters, providing you with other channels to tune into; the fire department, ambulance service, police and much more. The Uniden 800 MHz scanner consists of a weather band and seven NOAA bands and comes with Close Call RF Capture Technology and Search Lockout. With these features, it finds the most suited channels in your area and locks out channels you do not want or need.

With the Close Call, it checks for signals nearby while monitoring frequencies and comes with seven banks total, six pre-programmed, and one private band that makes up part of it.

Additionally, the BC355N has 13 detached band searches. With the scanner, you can save up to 300 frequencies with the supplied preset frequencies. Therefore, when you encounter an activated local frequency for any type of service category, you can add it to the nine banks for that category and provides you quick access to those frequencies you want to hear. Another great thing about the CB radio is that it is mobile and used in your vehicle or at home.
